Alongside
our helpful security personnel, Southern Cross also assist centre patrons via
our Concierge service. Recently the concierge staff at Warringah Mall received
this note of thanks from Richard and Lucy after helping them find their missing
son:
“We came into the centre on Saturday morning as a family, to
pick up a couple of things.
As we walked in we bumped into some friends and chatted for
a bit, my 6-year-old daughter could see the Kidsstuff store and wanted to look
at the Beanie Boos. I took her into the store as my wife talked to our friends
with my 8-year-old son, Oscar. Oscar has Down Syndrome, and whilst he is very
high functioning and fast! He can be quite impulsive and can get confused quite
easily.
After a couple of minutes, Oscar obviously decided he was
bored and wanted to come and find Dad, and within the blink of an eye, he was
gone. I set off desperately looking in the shops near us and my wife went to the
concierge desk to ask for help.
After about 15 minutes of me running around the centre
looking for Oscar, my wife called me to say he’d been found, in the car
park! As an experience for us, it was horrid, but it could have been so
much worse.
In the panic of the situation we forget to take note of the
concierge’s name or the security guards, but please pass on our heartfelt
thanks to everyone who was working on Saturday morning and helped us, they all
did a terrific job and we really appreciated it.”
Richard also stated that Southern Cross Group’ security staff and
personnel were calm, professional and reassuring throughout the whole ordeal.
Great work Team!
